Proposal for Sustainable Production
22 August 2008CHINA - A draft proposal has been approved for promoting sustainable animal production.
Official sources say that the proposal was approved at an executive meeting of the State Council, China's cabinet on 20 August.
The meeting approved a draft on the import and export of 'genetic resources' of livestock and poultry. It aimed to promote the 'sustainable development of China's animal husbandry' sector.
The regulation stipulated certain conditions where the import and export of the resources could be allowed, and the co-operation between Chinese and foreign researchers could be approved.
