Belarus: Output of Pigs and Eggs Up
18 November 2008BELARUS - Agricultural output is up significantly up so far this year.
Agricultural product manufacturing grew by 8.1% in January–October in Belarus in comparison with the corresponding period of the last year, Meat Russia reports.
As of 1 November 2008, cattle livestock increased by 132,000 head or 3.6% in agricultural and other organizations considered in the current report, if compared with the corresponding date of the last year, including cow numbers up by 19,800 head (1.6%), and pig numbers by 120,400 head (by 4.5%) for this period.
For the period January-October 2008, livestock and poultry output grew by 5% in agricultural and other organizations considered in the current report, compared with the corresponding date of the last year: milk production grew by 8.9%, and egg production rose by 5.2%.
