Print This Page Australians Eat More Pork and Poultry
AUSTRALIA - The latest report from the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics (ABARE) on the red meat industry highlights how per capita consumption of pork and poultry meat is continuing to rise. The latest ABARE report reveals that while pork production is flat, poultry meat output continues to rise at around the same rate - although well behind - the country's top meats in volume terms, beef and veal.
Australians are actually eating the same amount of meat but consumers are turning away from red meat to poultry and pig meat.
