EU Pig Prices: Still Unchanged for the Most Part
EU - Again, the European slaughter pig market appears unchanged for the most part this week.
Prices went down for the second time in a row in Great Britain and Spain solely. In Spain, this is attributed to the flagging tourism industry. As for Great Britain, the tense situation between slaughter companies and retailing is said to be the reason for the weak prices.
The prices in Austria, Belgium, France, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany remained unchanged anew. Though the quantities of pigs mature for slaughter slightly went up over the past week in Germany, the prices are expected to keep steady. The Swedish quotation also remained unchanged, yet as a result of changes in the currency exchange rates the corrected quotation proved to be slightly higher than last week.
Trend: Although the quantities of pigs mature for slaughter are slightly increased currently, marketing the pigs is flowing smoothly. The domestic market continues to be relieved through the export business still working out well.
