Print This Page H1N1 Transfer from Human to Pig under Investigation
FINLAND - The influenza A H1N1 virus is reported to have caused flu in pigs and pig farm workers.According to an unofficial report on Flutrackers, the Health and Welfare Department will examine the case in which H1N1 influenza is suspected to infect people in a Finnish pig farm. The Finnish Food Safety Authority, Evira, has sent the sample investigated THL's laboratory for confirmation.
Juhani Eskola, director-general of THL, has assured the public that pork is safe to eat.
