Early Christmas for Sparks at BBC Good Food Show
UK - An early Christmas present has been delivered to the children's medical research charity Sparks thanks to the generosity of visitors to the NFU stand, supported by leading feed manufacturer ABN, at this year's BBC Good Food Show.During the five days of the show at Birmingham's NEC, more than £1100 was donated in return for locally grown seasonal fruit, vegetables and plants and a free copy of The Little Book of Great British Turkey Recipes supplied by Quality British Turkey. Leading British pig and poultry feed manufacturer ABN chipped in to bring the grand total to £1,500.
The money raised for Sparks will help fund the charity's cutting edge research work across the whole spectrum of paediatric medicine.
Simon Heath, Commercial Director at ABN, said: "We are delighted that our involvement has resulted in a small boost to funds to continue the great work Sparks undertake."
Sparks Co-President, Gabby Logan, who donated one of her own turkey recipes to the project, said: "The support of organisations like the NFU and ABN is vital to us. Medical research for children increasingly depends on funding from charities like Sparks. So a big thank you from me to everyone at the NFU and ABN."
