CANADA - The Banff Pork Seminar will celebrate its 40th anniversary next year, when the meeting will take place on 18 to 21 January.Ron Ball, the University of Alberta professor of swine nutrition and programme director of the Banff Pork Seminar, is excited about the possibilities for next year's Seminar.
Slated for 18 to 21 January 2011, it will be the 40th anniversary of the event. In closing the 2010 programme, Professor Ball thanked sponsors for their strong support this year, which has been especially gratifying, he says, given the challenges the industry has faced. But he is already thinking about the possibilities for the anniversary event.
He said: "We'd like sponsors to think about what they might do that would be a special effort," for what he hopes will be a significant milestone in the event's history.
