Print This Page Record Pork and Poultry Production in 2009
GERMANY - According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), more than 7.7 million tonnes of meat was produced from commercial slaughtering in Germany in 2009.This marks a 2.5 per cent increase compared to a year ago. Pork accounted for the largest share (67.9 per cent) in total meat production.
This was followed by poultry (16.6 per cent) and beef (15.2 per cent). The proportion of mutton/lamb, goat and horse meat totalled not more than 0.3 per cent.
