Three More Outbreaks of ASF in Russia

RUSSIA - Three more outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) have been reported.

The Russian veterinary authority has reported three new cases of ASF to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) in Follow Up Report No. 19 dated 4 March. All three were recorded in the last days of February.

Two outbreaks were in Krasnodarsky Kray – one in a herd of farmed pigs (five pigs were affected, all were destroyed) and a wild boar was found dead.

The other outbreak was in Rostovskaya region, which borders Ukraine, in a herd of 358 village pigs. Of the 57 pigs affected, 37 died and the rest were destroyed.
