EU Pig Prices: Unchanged Quotations Throughout EU
EU - This week, the European slaughter pig market is characterised by mostly unchanged quotations.
Other than in Spain, where the price went down by a corrected 2 cents, the quotations compared with each other remained steady everywhere else. As a result of exchange rate changes, the corrected quotation in Great Britain went down by 1 cent, yet the original quotation remained unchanged.
The market situation is reported to be difficult in Spain. With the winter weather still prevailing, the pig prices are exerted pressure on. In the Netherlands, the quantities of pigs for slaughter on offer prove to be quite extensive still with demand not quite meeting. Nevertheless, the price remained unchanged there, following the example of Germany. The markets are reported to be well supplied in all other European countries, too.
Trend: Easing begins to show on the pigs-mature-for-slaughter market this week. The quantities of pigs for slaughter seem to be reducing slightly, and with the weather being announced to get better, demand is expected to get more vivid again.
