Two More Outbreaks of ASF in Rostov Region
27 May 2010RUSSIA - There have been two new outbreaks of African Swine Fever (ASF) – one in wild boar and one at a pig farm.
The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 28 dated 26 May to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).
The first outbreak was at Milyutinsky in Rostov Oblast, where two wild boar were found dead on 21 May.
Three days later, on 24 May, five animals died on a farm with 3,977 pigs at Oktyabrsky in the same region.
The causal agent has been identified as ASF.
