More ASF Breaks Out in Russia
10 August 2010RUSSIA - The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) reports that the Russian veterinary authorities have discovered yet another outbreak of African swine fever in the country.
The OIE received follow-up report no. 37 dated 9 August 2010, stating that the outbreak took place in Volgogradskaya Oblast on 1 August.
Two animals were found infected while 98 were found susceptible to the disease. Both affected animals died.
The source of the outbreak is still under investigation.
