Two New ASF Outbreaks in Tverskaya
22 June 2011RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported two new outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF), both in Tverskaya Oblast.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 61 yesterday, 21 June.
A total of ten pigs were found susceptible to the outbreak, out of which 7 cases were reported. While six deaths were recorded, two of the affected animals were destroyed.
The source of the outbreak remains unknown, and is still under investigation.
