BPEX Organises 'Walk the Line' Abattoir Visit

UK - Pig producers will have the chance to visit an abattoir to experience the post-farmgate process from lairage to final packed product, when Vion’s Malton abattoir opens its doors on 14 September 2011.
The day – organised by BPEX – will also include:
- the importance of understanding your abattoir contract
- a vet talking about the British Pig Health Scheme and showing examples of poor health on the line
- a talk about Salmonella by the BPEX health team.
The day starts at 10am and will finish at approximately 2pm. To register, email Lis or call 07891 656 784 . Places are limited and registration is on a first-comes-first-served basis.
