TOPIGS: Strongly Improved Results for Belgium

BELGIUM - Pig farms in Belgium with TOPIGS sows weaned an average of 28.2 piglets per sow in 2010, an increase of 0.7 compared to 2009.
In spite of the increased production, the preweaning mortality is decreasing, from 12.9 per cent in 2009 to 12.1 per cent in 2010.
These conclusions are taken from the technical results of 133 Belgium farms.
