Three New Outbreaks of ASF Reported in Russia

RUSSIA - The Russian veterinary authorities have reported three new outbreaks of African swine fever in wild boars and pigs.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 65 on Friday, 2 September. According to the report, all three outbreaks took place in Tverskaya.
In the case of wild boar, two cases were identified, indicating a 100 per cent apparent case fatality rate. In the case of swine, 168 animals were found susceptible, out of which 6 cases were identified. 162 animals were destroyed.
The cause of the outbreak is under investigation.
