LA-MRSA Suspected in Norwegian Pigs

16 February 2015

NORWAY - Suspected LA-MRSA has been discovered in a pig herd in North Tr√łndelag.

The Food Safety Authority has imposed restrictions on the movement of pigs suspected of having MRSA.

"We expect to get answers to the tests in the middle of next week," said Bjorn Rothe Knudtsen, regional director of the Food Safety Authority.

"We are now working to get an overview of the situation, including mapping and contacting herds to take samples."
