EU - The atmosphere remains friendly on the European pig slaughter market. In most of the participating countries, the quotations are going up moderately.

Within a scope similar to the price quoted in Germany the pig slaughter prices are moving around 2 cents upward throughout Europe. Pigs for slaughter are sought for everywhere in Europe.

The German slaughter belts are run at full capacity in order to come to sufficient resources for the Christmas season. Extensive quantities are much asked for in the meat trade in this context.

Unchanged quotations are reported on from Spain, France, and Ireland.

As a result of the latest price increase, Denmark is leading the price structure of the five European countries most significant in pig keeping for the second week in a row and is now reporting a corrected price level of 1.56 euros per kg slaughter weight.

After the most recent price increase, Germany now finds itself on a par with Spain. Consequently, France was relegated to scarcely behind Germany.

Trend for the German market:

Demand keeps being brisk for pigs for slaughter even for the weekend. From some regions, the marketers report on not being able to cover the slaughter companies’ demand completely. On top of that some marketers expect the number of registrations to be going back. The further perspectives are friendly.
