Moves to protect the national piggery

AUSTRALIA - Australia's A$1 billion pork industry, under siege from rising imports, falling prices and quarantine fears, will join a Federal Government group to thrash out a plan to secure its future. The formation of a new joint industry-government group was announced yesterday by Judith Troeth, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Warren Truss.
