"Export sales are buoyant, particularly in Europe and Japan, while in the UK we have increased our market share, despite a difficult year for the British industry," commented Ian Brisby, the company's chief executive officer.

In addition, sales of semen and AI equipment, which have continued to grow, were given a boost by the launch of the company's new 'Cool Chain' distribution system to help producers improve their on-farm results.

The company has maintained a 'library' of bloodlines, from its three component parts - JSR, Newsham and Cotswold - putting it in a unique position to produce products which meet the differing demands of a variety of processors and retailers in a rapidly-changing market place, he says.

"Based on these results and our reception in the field, we are looking forward to our second year with increasing confidence," he added.
