The information indicates that Argentina has been recognised unconditionally as free from foot and mouth disease by the OIE.

In fact, an application to recognize a zone of Argentina as free from foot and mouth disease with vaccination has been reviewed by the OIE's Foot and Mouth Disease and Other Epizootics Commission on 22 May 2003.

The Commission decided that the zone of Argentina could recover its status of freedom from foot and mouth disease with vaccination in accordance with Article 2.1.1.7 of OIE International Animal Health Code as of 7 July 2003 if Argentina is able to provide documents supporting that there has been no change in the epidemiological status of the country between 22 May 2003 and 7July 2003.

However, the recognition by the OIE of the zone South of Patagonia as free from foot and mouth disease without vaccination remains unaltered.
