Piglet Destruction Scheme
FRANCE - France has introduced a piglet destruction scheme that will operate during the next three-four months.

Up to 2,500 piglets can be placed into the scheme per day.
The scheme will accept up to a total of 100,000 piglets. According to the French Meat Industry Organisation, OFIVAL, the European Commission has been notified and the scheme will be viewed as a state aid.
It is expected that compensation of € 15 per piglet will be paid.
