THE VOICE OF THE UK PIG INDUSTRY

NPA is active on members' behalf in Brussels & White-hall, and with pro-cessors, supermarkets & caterers – fighting for the growth and pros-perity of the UK pig industry.

Less than half think it delivers healthy, safe food and only a quarter think it defends farmers' interests in their dealings with intermediaries and distributors.

But the survey also shows there is strong support for the concept of helping farmers survive the new world order.

Over 80 percent agree with the notion of protecting small-medium farms and a similar percentage feel farmers should be helped to adapt production to meet consumer expectations.

Interestingly, 90 percent feel strongly that the CAP should ensure agricultural products are healthy and safe… which rather begs the question about what the other ten percent want.
