End of previous report period: 24 November 2003 (see Disease Information, 16 [48], 264, dated 28 November 2003).

Diagnosis:
A. Laboratory where diagnosis was made: State Veterinary Institute, Zvolen.
B. Diagnostic tests used: virological.
Source of agent / origin of infection: not yet known; under investigation. The farm is in an area where the wild boar population is infected with classical swine fever virus.
Control measures during reporting period: in accordance with Directive 2001/89/EC of the Council of the European Union.
