'Pork Powerhouse' looks for new money
US - As feed costs rise and U.S. hog numbers remain high, the nation's largest pork producers are reevaluating their businesses heading into spring.
Heartland Pork, Alden, Iowa, is one “Pork Powerhouse“ considering new options. "Due to the continued depressed hog market, we are exploring opportunities to bring new financial partners into our business," Bruce Rastetter, Heartland president and CEO, told Agriculture Online.
