The Ukrainian veterinary service has banned import of live pigs, pork and pork-origin goods from Beire Litorate, a province in Portugal, due to cases of classical pig plague discovered there, the Head of State Department of Veterinary Medicine Petro Verbytsky said.

The ban started on February 2.

According to the State Department, this dangerous animal disease has been registered in 17 countries of the world.
