White House Announces Intent To Sign Central American Trade Agreement
US - President Bush officially notified Congress of plans to sign the U.S.-Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) on Feb. 20 and said the pact "will create new opportunities for America's workers, farmers, businesses, and consumers by eliminating barriers," reported the Bureau of National Affairs.

Veneman is scheduled to speak at the National Pork Producers Council's (NPPC) delegate session on Friday, March 5.
This is the first time that Veneman, a high profile member of President Bush's cabinet, will attend Forum.
At the convention, which runs from March 4-6, the annual meetings of the NPPC and the National Pork Board will be conducted.
This year's Forum features lively discussions on animal welfare, the continuing marketing challenges facing the industry, environmental regulations, economic pressures and more. Conference sessions will feature industry experts, producer leaders and others who deal daily with these issues.
