UK - Pig producers are concerned that lower food prices pledged by major UK supermarkets will drive down farmer returns rather than promoting more demand at point of sale. This would undo the recent narrowing of the farm to retail price spread, which has dropped from 284% to 271% for fresh pork over the past six months.
