Corporate hog farms clean up
US - In the early 1990s, the hog giants came to Missouri promising economic salvation for areas of the state hardest hit by the losses of jobs and population. Mega-farms crowded out many of the small farms that punctuated Missouri’s landscape, changing our agrarian heritage forever with foul-smelling, stream-polluting and community-dividing hog factories.
