Livestock ID system planned for fall
US - The federal government plans to start issuing farm and livestock identification numbers by late fall, a key step toward having a national system for tracking animal diseases. The ID numbers would allow investigators to identify where any cow, hog or other animal has been, from birth to slaughter.
