Pig farmer denies knowingly allowing slurry to pollute burn
UK - A cracked tank caused millions of litres of toxic waste to spill into a river and kill scores of fish, a court heard yesterday.
The leak at an Aberdeenshire pig farm operated by the company Scotpigs turned the water black. Arthur Simmers, a managing director of the firm, denies being responsible for polluting the Tarty Burn in April 2002.
