THE VOICE OF THE UK PIG INDUSTRY

NPA is active on members' behalf in Brussels & Whitehall, and with processors, supermarkets & caterers – fighting for the growth and pros-perity of the UK pig industry.

As well as providing practical information, results will be used to decide the next stage of future studies on PMWS on commercial farms.

Over 100 farms have been recruited onto the study and more are still needed - particularly non-PMWS units - to help establish the prevalence of, and possible risk factors for, PMWS.

Work is due to finish in June and producers are encouraged to get involved if they are invited to participate.

Managed by the MLC, this study is funded by Defra and BPEX with research partners including the University of Warwick, Queens University Belfast, and Leeds Veterinary Laboratory.
