Deputy Agriculture Secretary Moseley To Attend World Pork Expo - WASHINGTON, DC - USDA Deputy Secretary, Jim Moseley, will visit with pork producers at a luncheon hosted by the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) at the 16th Annual World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa on Friday, June 11.

Moseley plays a key role in developing public policy for agriculture, the environment and natural resources conservation at the state and national levels.

Prior to his appointment as deputy secretary of USDA, Moseley, an Indiana farmer with 32 years of hands-on-farm experience, was the managing partner of Infinity Pork, LLC, which raises hogs. In addition, he owned Ag Ridge Farms, which specialized in grains. Both operations are located in Clarks Hill, Ind.

Also in attendance at the luncheon will be Dr. Ron DeHaven, the administrator of USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Dr. Valerie Regan, assistant deputy administrator of APHIS Veterinary Services and several Iowa state officials, including Ellen Gordon, homeland security advisor; Brent Halling, deputy secretary of agriculture and Dr. John Schiltz, Iowa's state veterinarian. NPPC's World Pork Expo, the world's largest pork exhibition in the world, will be held June 10-12 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa.
