NORTH CAROLINA - Smithfield Foods’ pork processing plant in Tar Heel, North Carolina plant was awarded ISO 14001 certification from the Geneva, Switzerland-headquartered International Organization for Standardization. The Tar Heel is the world's first major meat processing facility to achieve this honor.
