Mini lab offers on the spot tests for Foot and Mouth disease
UK - A portable mini lab that can test for human and animal diseases could save lives and time, say its makers. Developed by the Ministry of Defence's research arm, the system was originally designed to search for biological warfare agents on the battlefield. Spotting illnesses in animals quickly is essential as the 2001 outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease proved.
