Selection made easy with additional on-pack information at retail level

An advertising campaign has been devised by Bord Bia to support the launch of the label and to ensure that consumers are aware of the label’s relevance. The promotion is being supported by the pigmeat industry and will feature television and outdoor advertising as well as in store merchandising.

Commenting on the launch of the label, Aidan Cotter, Chief Executive, Bord Bia said: “The label provides traceability for Irish pigmeat products at retail level. The Quality Assurance Scheme label with country of origin information will give consumers an opportunity to exercise choice in their meat purchasing decisions.“

The label will be visible on eligible pork and bacon products in retail outlets nationwide. For pork and bacon recipes, please visit www.bordbia.ie
