Taiwan helping Solomons revive pig farming

TAIWAN - The Department of Agriculture and Livestock is collaborating with the Republic of China's [Taiwan's] agriculture technical mission to revive animal husbandry in Solomon Islands. The department's director of livestock, Dudley Wate, says some pigs arrived in Honiara from Australia last week and will be raised at the Taiwan's agriculture technical mission farm in east Honiara. He says the department hopes that by the middle of next year they would be able to distribute piglets to farmers who need them in Solomon Islands.
