Pork Leader Says 'Reform, Or I'll Resign'

AUSTRALIA - The leader of the pork industry's peak council says he'll resign if there aren't big changes made in the industry. Dr Paul Higgins says he's angry the industry is still fighting the same issues as ten years ago. He has called on producers to embrace a new industry restructure, to double fresh pork consumption and make the industry more competitive. And he takes responsibility for the lack of progress.
