Middlemen blamed for rise in pork, chicken prices
PHILIPPINES - Middlemen or viajeros are to blame for the rising prices of pork and chicken ahead of the holidays, a consumer watchdog yesterday claimed. Raul T. Concepcion, head of the Consumer and Oil Price Watch (COPW), told reporters that the public should expect prices of basic goods to increase unless the distribution process is streamlined.
