A small improvement in productivity could pay big dividends for the whole industry and a series of workshops highlighting best practice in Artificial Insemination (AI) are being held to show how.

The training sessions, aimed at pig keepers, managers and stockmen will be held on 9 March at Writtle College, Essex, 16 March at Easton College, Norwich and on 23 March at Otley College, Ipswich.

RMIF On-Farm Project Manager, Clare Wise said: "RMIF and BPEX have joined forces to show how AI best practice can really improve your bottom line. The workshops will air practical tips, techniques and ideas for increasing AI efficiency."

Part of the BPEX AI programme, the meetings mark the third round of workshops funded by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), having already covered the subjects of veterinary medicines, growth promoter withdrawal and weaner management.
