Buying better – how to get a better deal for energy. What you need to know to secure a better price and the importance of going through the right steps at the right time.
Identifying the big energy users - where is the energy going? How to track energy use and spot wasteful areas.
Ways of saving energy for ventilation, creep heating, weaner buildings, lighting, feeding.
Climate Change Levy discount – how it can save money and how to comply with least effort.
Making an energy plan.
The workshops will show the most up-to-date ideas in control and monitoring including environmental systems and energy and thermal imaging for checking insulation and air leakage. There will be a practical session on identifying problems with examples of applications from a local farm.
Content is suitable for farm owners and managers and those who have an interest or responsibility for energy use on a pig farm. Each workshop is for half a day (three hours instructional time).
