JSR wins major EU supported Pig Development Project
UK - JSR, one of the world's leading pig genetics businesses, has confirmed the signing of a major new Romanian franchise agreement. The deal with S C Consinterfin SRL has the backing of the SAPARD (Special Accession Programme for Agriculture & Rural Development) funding programme which has been set up to assist the new 'Accession Countries' to make structural adjustments in their agricultural sectors.

JSR will be supplying Dam lines from their 'Genepacker 90' and '105' breeding programme and Sire lines from 'Quantum' parent boars. The objective is to create a new, 450 sow, nucleus herd in Romania, which will allow second generation progeny to influence breeding on a far wider scale.
This is one of a number of key projects currently being undertaken by JSR as they continue their rapid expansion into the developing East European market. "The SAPARD funding made available through the EU has been effective in enabling this deal to be completed in a timely fashion; it should see the Romanian pig sector improve massively going forward," said JSR Genetics European Sales Director Paul Anderson.
