THE VOICE OF THE UK PIG INDUSTRY

NPA is active on members' behalf in Brussels & Whitehall, and with processors, supermarkets & caterers - fighting for the growth and pros-perity of the UK pig industry.

However, most recent outbreaks of classical swine fever in the Rhine Westphalia region of Germany are of special concern, as it had been thought the situation was contained.

Initially, thought to have been transmitted by migrant workers or tourists, the outbreak is now linked with feral boar activity.

There are still concerns in Poland, caused by overproduction, low prices and external trade problems particularly with Russia and the Ukraine.
