The legal action against the piggery owners would be filed by the Kilusan Kontra Amoy (KKA) to enforce the people's protection against massive violations of environmental laws.

Ruperto Cruz, one of the convenors of KKA, said the hog farm owners should take immediate moves to prevent the obnoxious stench the people are complaining about. "We don't really want them to close their farms because we believe in the adage 'Live and let live,' and we also believe in 'free trade'," he said.

Cruz said: "It is just a matter of addressing the issue by complying with the environmental compliance certificates (ECCs)".

He explained that the KKA respects the rights of piggery farm owners and even want the farms to exist. However, he said if the operators ignore the people's sufferings and allow the nuisance coming from their farms to continue, the KKA will be convened.
