The Records of Discussion on the “Implementation support for 3R (reduce-reuse-recycle) initiative for a sound material-cycle society in Hanoi” was signed by representatives of JICA and the Hanoi People’s Committee on Oct. 5.

The project is aimed at promoting the practice of separating domestic waste at its source, in which organic and inorganic wastes are separated by citizens before being collected by the urban environment company.

This practice is seen to essentially accelerate the utilisation of a great available amount of organic wastes for other profitable economic activities such as the production of compost fertilizer or pig farming.
