Martin Lavoie, CPI’s deputy managing director, said he was convinced Canadian pork would be able to gain a foothold in Vietnam considering its robust economic development and growing demand for quality meat.

Export would be much easier post-WTO since Vietnam had cut import tariffs on pork by 50 percent and the two countries had signed a food safety deal.
