No pseudorabies found in pigs tested outside 5-mile quarantine area

US - Pigs at two of the four Clark County farms tested for pseudorabies outside a 5-mile quarantine area around a Greenwood farm infected with the disease tested negative.

The farms were tested because there was contact with pigs from the infected farm, said Paul McGraw, assistant state veterinarian at the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.

More results are expected next week, said DATCP spokesperson Donna Gilson.

The diseased pigs were on a farm belonging to Alvin Bontrager, Highway G, Greenwood.
