Pig farmers protest big business
BANGKOK - About 300 pig farmers rallied at the Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) building, claiming the agribusiness was monopolising the business and cutting pork prices. They claimed that CPF has caused pig farmers to lose more than 7 billion baht because of their price reduction of pork in the past six months.
The protesters gathered at Lumpini park in Bangkok and walked to the building. They put a wreath in front of the building, demanding the company stop expansion, and then reduce the breeding of pigs.
