Triple C Pigs head of public relations Israel Muchuchu said that the company was spreading the scheme to Mashonaland Central and East provinces to boost pig production in the country and satisfy demand from the export market.

He said they had already started prospecting for piggeries that were lying idle in the provinces to establish nucleus points for breeding.

"We have identified a nucleus point in Mashonaland Central and have already initiated talks with the local leadership to start breeding," said Mr Muchuchu.

In Mashonaland East, he said, they had also identified some nucleus points and had already held meetings with the provincial Governor, Cde Ray Kaukonde, Agritex and Department of Livestock officials for assistance.
