The majority of quotations are observed to remain unchanged. In Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany, the producers were thus able to hold their ground, and prices were quoted unchanged.

Market participants still report about the supply of pigs mature for slaughter being narrow in Europe. In contrast to that, the slaughter industry complains about the meat business being weak. From France, for instance, report is in that as a result of below-average supply to the slaughterhouses some days of slaughter were deleted on the one hand; but on the other hand, the pig prices went down a little.

Market analysts state that in the Netherlands live-pigs’ exports to Italy, Spain and Hungary are becoming an ever more interesting alternative for the producers as a result of the latest prices paid in the Netherlands.
